What’s the difference between a Tropical storm and hurricane?
I want to know the difference between a hurricane and a tropical storm. Can you give me facts about how they are different and how they are formed? Thank you. PLEASE ANSWER AS QUICKLY AS YOU CAN.

Hurricane Ike Slams Cuba- Heading for Texas?
The best case scenario for the Gulf Coast residents would ahve been for hurricane Ike to straddle the mountains of Cuba and weaken big time. But NO! Ike missed the entire Eastern mountainous region, crosses over Cuba and goes back out to sea, before attacking Cuba again and paying a visit to Havana. In other words, hurricane Ike will come out of Cuba stronger than we originally planned.
Hurricane Ike made landfall around 9:45 p.m. EDT Sunday evening, near Punto De Sama in the Cuban province of Hoguin with winds estimated near 125 miles per hour. As of 5 p.m. EDT Monday, Ike was located about 340 miles SE of Havana, Cuba, and moving westward at 14 mph. Time over land had weakened the storm and Ike is now a Category I hurricane with winds near 80 mph. Organization of Ike has appeared to increase over the past couple of hours since it has moved over the water.
So, where’s this dude going? :-(
The best guess now as we’re still five days out (Saturday seems to be the best landfall estimate) is somewhere between Corpus Christi and Beaumont. Can you say HOUSTON? Houston, we have a problem: maybe! And with the warm waters of the Gulf, Ike is expected to regain strength over the next four days and build to a Category 3 again.
Hurricane Ike roared down Cuba’s spine Monday and toward the island’s densely populated capital of fragile historic buildings after ravaging homes and forcing more than 1 million people to evacuate. U.S. residents from Florida to Texas braced for Ike’s next wallop.
As one Cuban resident said, “This critter was angry, really angry,” Delia Oliveras, 64, said in the central city of Camaguey. Winds tore the roof from the living room where her family was huddled, and they fled to a covered patio. “We have seen hurricanes, but never as big as this.” And the people have not yet recovered from Gustav. Gustav tore across western Cuba as a monstrous Category 4 hurricane on Aug. 30, damaging 100,000 homes and causing billions of dollars in damage. But no deaths were reported, thanks to mandatory evacuations of at least 250,000 people.
So, now Texans wait and pray that Ike goes some place else or fizzles out. Both scenarios are highly unlikely as of Monday evening.

Buy Carolina Hurricane Tickets to Watch the Champions
The team was established in 1972 and was called the New England Whalers. Howard Baldwin, Godfrey Wood, William Barned and John Coburn founded the team. The team won their first Stanley Cup in 2005-06. They are expected to make a great win this season as well. Carolina Hurricane tickets will be difficult to get unless booked in advance.

In 1972 the Whalers played for the first time out of Boston. The first season saw a great win for the Whalers. They won the WHA’s Avco World Trophy that year. They did not do very well and finished fourth in Norris Division. The Whalers had a tough time getting playoffs in the next five years. In July 1997 the Whalers moved to research Triangle Rea of North Carolina and the new Entertainment and Sports Arena in Raleigh. They were renamed as the Carolina Hurricanes. The 1988-99 season saw a win for the Hurricanes with the return of their former captain Ron Francis. They won the new Southeast Division with Keith Primeau’s 30 goals and Gary Robert 178 penalty minutes.
The season 2000- 01 brought them face to face with New Jersey Devils. The sixth game at Raleigh despite their loss was closed by a standing ovation by the audience for the Hurricanes. The 05-06 season was the biggest surprise for the Hurricane fans. The Canes scored a record 52-22-8 and 112 points. They broke the earlier Whalers franchisee record. The Canes lost the first two games to Habs in the 2006 Stanley Cup Playoffs. However they managed to win two games at Montreal and finished the series with a 2-1 victory. Cory Stillman made the winning goal. This was followed by the Hurricanes playing against New Jersey in the Eastern Conference semifinals. The Carolina Hurricanes tickets demand was high for this game. It was expected to be a close call. However Hurricanes got an easy win defeating Jersey with 6-0. The second and the third games were again wins, with Eric Staal and Niclas Wallin becoming the heroes.
In the Eastern Conference Finals the Hurricanes lost to the Sabers in the first game. The Canes went out to win the series taking a 3-2 lead. Rod Brind’Amour scored the winning goal and the Hurricanes entered the Stanley Cup finals. The final was played against the Edmonton Oilers in Raleigh on June 5th. Hurricanes won their first Stanley Cup that season. This season is expected to be a major sellout for the Carolina Hurricane tickets. Being champions the Carolina Hurricanes tickets prices are also expected to go up.

What does water exactly do inside a hurricane?
I want to get an idea about water activity inside an hurricane. How is it mounted in an eye of a hurricane? I thought the water would kind of drain inwards inside the eye, like a whirlpool - like in a sink filled in water and you unclog it and drain the water away and you could see a tiny whirlpool. But other sources say the water is mounted inside the eye of a hurricane? How is it mounted..in what manner? Like a fountain?
