Can you file for unemployment if your company closes for a week due to a hurricane?

I work at a resort in the Florida Keys and this is the second time I have missed at least 5 days of work due to a hurricane. Is there some kind of weekly unemployment for the state of Florida? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

YOu can try; but there is a one week waiting period to make a claim.

Ask your employer if lost wages are covered under HIS business insurance umbrella. Some do.
