Carolina Hurricanes Tickets - Canes Get Pasted On Pepsi Cans

The Carolina Hurricanes roster is looking pretty good lately. With none of the Canes situated on the injured reserves list, there’s plenty of action taking place on the ice. Forward players include Ryan Bayda, Rod Brind’Amour, Wade Brookbank, Matt Cullen, Patrick Eaves, Chad laRose, Tuomo Ruutu, Sergei Samsonov, Eric Staal, Brandon Sutter, Scott Walker, Ray Whitney and Justin Williams. Team defensemen players include Anton Babchuk, Joe Corvo, Tim Gleason, Frantisek Kaberle, Joni Pitkanen, Dennis Seidenberg and Niclas Wallin. The roster completes with goalies Michael Leighton and Cam Ward.

The Canes took their last game before the All-Star Break with a 2-1 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins. In January, the Canes will host games against the Lightning and the Thrashers to finish out the month. Moving on to February, the Canes will play home games during the month against the Panthers, Blue Jackets, Bruins, Lightning, Avalanche, and the Sabres. The balance of the February games will put the Canes on the road where they will take to the ice as visitors in games against the Canucks, Sharks, Coyotes, Sabres, Islanders, Senators and Thrashers. In the month of March, the Canes will also be on the road as visitors on the ice of the Capitals, Lightning, Blackhawks, Stars, Capitals, Panthers and the Devils. Home games in March will be against the Flames, Rangers, Devils, Islanders, Capitals and Senators.

Any last minute sparks at home in April will have to be against the Rangers, Penguins, Islanders or Sabres when the Canes take to the ice on their own territory against those teams. The Saturday, April 11 game will be against the Devils with the Canes representing on the ice as the visitors.

The Canes roster of coaches and staff looks nicely situated as well. Staffing includes head coach Paul Maurice, associate head coach Ron Francis, assistant coach Kevin McCarthy, assistant coach Tom Rowe, goaltending coach Tom Barrasso, video coach Chris Huffine, head athletic therapist and strengthening and conditioning coach Peter Friesen, associate athletic therapist Jason Bailey, equipment manager skip Cunningham, equipment manager Skip Cunningham and equipment manager Wally Tatomir.

Keeping the team in stitches when needed are head medical physician Jay Stephens, head orthopedic surgeon Marty Isbell, team dentist Tom Long and team dentist Gabriel Rich along with team Optometrist Mike Peters.

The Canes are currently situated in the number eight position with 23 wins, 20 losses and 5 OTs giving them a total of 51 points for their standing in the eastern conference.

This year’s draft picks Zach Boychuk, Zac Dalpe, Michal Jordan, Mike Murphy and Samuel Morneau hail from various leagues including WHL Lethbridge, BCHL Penticton, OMJHL Baie-Comieu and OHL Plymouth and Belleville. Canada represented well with this year’s drafts with four of the top picks for the Canes. A cross section of birthplaces of these young hopefuls includes Airdrie, AB, Paris, ON, Kingston, ON and Cowansville, QC.

At the approach of the All-Star break Pepsi Cola has introduced cans themed after the Cans with a contest of excellent prices.
