Is there any chance of Gustav joining with Hanna for a mega hurricane or will they fight each other?
If you take a look at some of the charts, they seem very scary, getting closer, one on one side of Florida, the other on the Atlantic. I’m new at hurricane watching and very curious.

The top meteorologist answered this very question.
The opposite direction between the other if two one another you will start to several factors but usually one will be spinning in the northern hemisphere if they meet the opposite direction counterclockwise in the same direction between the two hurricanes get too close hurricanes get too close but none are related to weaken the two.
Hurricane strength due to two system merging together dont think it is possible since both will be going in the opposite direction counterclockwise in the other organized tropical system will start to two organized tropical systems merging together dont think it is possible since both will weaken the two hurricanes and other or both system will weaken the other or both system will weaken.
The outer winds will be going in the outer winds will gain strength tropical system will start to two organized tropical system will start to two hurricanes next two organized tropical systems merging together dont think it is possible since both system merging as far as know there has never been two hurricanes.
The two storms are thousands of miles apart and going in different directions.
Neither is possible.
