Hurricane Ike washed us out….it was nightmare, still is to a lesser degree. Except for my religion all my philosophical thoughts have fled away, as well most of my ambitions for the future. We are definitely interested in a tropical, all-inclusive resort honeymoon destination. We were very much liking Cancun but with it being in the hurricane belt during hurricane season, it’s pretty iffy now. Why did the police take people’s guns, and force them to leave their houses during hurricane Katrina?

After hurricane Katrina hit police, and military forced people who owned guns legally to give up their guns. Also police forced people whose homes were NOT effected by the hurricane to leave their homes.Why did police, and military do this?

Evacuation necessary for a hurricane in New York?

There are reports that if a hurricane were heading towards New York City, it would be necessary to evacuate millions of people very quickly. Why would it be necessary to evacuate at all? Perhaps it is necessary for those in wooden houses that live on coasts, but what about apartment buildings made out of concrete and/or steel. Wouldn’t it be safer for those residents to remain in place at their homes?

Can you survive on a boat in the open sea, during a hurricane?

I was wondering about deep sea travel and if there are ships (other than military of course) capable of surviving hurricane force waves and wind. In my opinion, I believe that such a boat could be made, it would just be very expensive. I mean a boat capable of righting itself if flipped upside down and everything.
